Campaign Early Prepare - Earthquake

Campaign Early Prepare – Earthquake focuses on childcare operating in Kitsap County, Washington. There are over 140 licensed childcare & school age programs operating in Kitsap County (that’s over 4,000 children).

The intent of our campaign is to better prepare our community, and especially our children, for earthquakes. We do this through emergency manager-led training on earthquake safety techniques promoted in the Great ShakeOut™. Our training includes reading Tummy Rumble Quake (a children’s book written to teach earthquake safety) and conducting an earthquake safety drill within each individual childcare.

BLOCKS provided training to over 415 children last year and was featured in the Seattle Times (you can access the link below). Each childcare that completed our training received a free copy of Tummy Rumble Quake.
